Hi,
I'm Sydney Hassler. You can call me Syd. I've been performing in musical theatre since I was 7 years old. My mom took me to see a performance of "Alice in Wonderland" at a children's theatre and I was instantly hooked. Mom says I looked at her and said, "I gotta do this!" And I did!
Since then, I've performed in over 40 productions, mostly musical theatre. I absolutely love it. I'm 18 now, and a senior at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, where we just finished our run of Anastasia. I played Anya. It was a dream! Our stellar production is a finalist in 11 categories in the upcoming ASU Gammage High School Musical Theatre Awards. I'm nominated for Best Female Lead and Best Vocalist.
I graduate high school in May. In the fall I'll be off to NYC to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre at Marymount Manhattan College!
